NEWS FROM RYE NEWCOMERS AND NEIGHBORS CLUB
(March 2018)

The Rye Newcomers and Neighbors Club has elected Sharon Mantel as Co-President.  She replaces Silvat Malik who resigned after 2 years of  service in the role.
"We thank Silvat for her leadership, and welcome Sharon to her new position. Sharon's energy and imagination as events coordinator have been critical components of our recent success, and we're delighted she has agreed to expand her commitment to our club," said Susan Watson, who continues as RNNC Co-President.
Sharon and her husband Brad joined Rye Newcomers in 2016 after relocating from Lower Manhattan. Sharon grew up near Boston and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.  She spent 10 years as a marketing executive with American Express before becoming a full-time Mom to sons Jackson, 5, and Kyle, 3.
"Brad and I love the city spirit and strong sense of community in Rye, and we're grateful for the friends we've made through RNNC.  We are busy meeting our neighbors in Rye Gardens, exploring hiking trails and local restaurants," commented Sharon.
Founded 70 years ago, Rye Newcomers and Neighbors Club is a membership organization dedicated to welcoming new residents by hosting a variety of events for adults and families in the Sound Shore area.  Its activities include book clubs, Happy Hours and luncheons for men and women, as well as play dates and holiday parties for children.
