Interested in playing Basketball!!

There is a free ladies Basketball group that meets ones/twice a week to do some really good workout. We are often struggeling to get enough people to play as we need at least 6 to play. If you are interested please join us. ALL LEVELS are welcome and it is so much fun!!!

DOGS on the Beach during the winter

Did you know that from October to May, you can bring your dog down to the Rye Beach and let him/her frolick in the waves without a leash? It's a wonderful treat for our 4-legged friends. Use a leash until you enter the gate off the Rye Boardwalk.. and be sure to observe all of the usual dog etiquette. Enjoy this balmy winter weather with your pet until April!


HISTORY IN RYE

The Knapp House, ca. 1670, is located at 265 Rye Beach Ave. in Rye, NY and houses the Rye Historical Society’s vast archival collection of historic maps, manuscripts, photographs and books.  It is open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The Society’s Square House Museum at 1 Purchase St. in Rye is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm For more information, please call (914) 967-7588 or visit their website, www.ryehistory.org.

THE BARCLAY CLASSES  OF RYE

Think about registering your child for fall "The Barclay" Classes for the fall.  While ballroom dancing is used as the teaching vehicle, the program also places a strong emphasis on all aspects of social manners; including first impressions, conversation development and table manners.  This is a fun way for your children to develop confidence, poise and good manners all in a social setting!

RYE YMCA UPCOMING EVENTS

Middle School Nights: The Rye YMCA is open for basketball, swimming (swim caps required), working out, video games, or socializing with friends in the Teen Lounge. Teens can also try air hockey, pool, ping-pong or foosball in the Game Room. Saturday teen nights for Middle School students are from 7pm.  Rye Y Members are free; Not a member? RYE YOUTH COUNCIL EMPLOYMENT SERVICE

Do you have a teen looking for a job?  You can put them on the list by calling 967-0015 or email Sandy Jacoby  jacobys@ryeschools.org. The office is open Monday thru Thursday, 10-3:00.

The RYE YOUTH COUNCIL EMPLOYMENT SERVICE has many high school and college students who are willing and able to work during the holiday season in a variety of jobs, Hostess Helpers (serving and cleaning up at parties and events), Babysitters, Gift wrappers, Pet sitters, and helping with assorted household chores (raking leaves, shoveling snow, cleaning out a basement or attic). Students are also available ashomework helpers or as tutors in specific subjects at all levels as well as in specialized areas (teaching musical instruments, athletic skills or helping with computers, addressing envelopes for holiday cards, etc).
