Rye Newcomers and Neighbors Club

Welcome

Greetings to all new and continuing members of the Rye Newcomers and Neighbors Club!

We enjoyed seeing many of you at our Welcome Barbeque at the Rye Beach Pavilion, where we welcomed almost 100 guests for food, drink, conversation and entertainment. The annual gathering, our signature event, is kicking off another busy season of outings and innings.

Below is a list of all the events we have planned for the remainder of 2018. Our invitations are sent by Paperless Post, so check your spam folder if you haven’t received any. We also keep a calendar on our website and will post on our Facebook group. We hope you can join us.

Sunday, October 14: Family Beach Day. This is a free event. Please RSVP so we can have breakfast and coffee for all.

Thursday, October 18: Girls’ Night Out dinner at Morgan’s in Rye at 7:30pm. We’ll order off the regular menu and split the check. Please bring cash to make it easy to settle the bill.

Wednesday, October 24: Join us for a self-funded daytrip to the Bronx Botanical Garden to view the Georgia O’Keefe exhibit. Details will follow, but plan on a 9:30am departure.

Monday, October 29: Our Ladies’ Book Club will discuss “The Golden State” by Lydia Kiesling on at Susan Watson’s home.

Friday, November 2: NEW! Jane & Dorothy are organizing a walking club – the Ramblers Group. They are enthusiastic trekkers and have a great list of sites to be explored in the coming months. Later in November, look for invitations to a wine tasting event, a kid-friendly coffee/playdate, and a men’s happy hour. We’ll close out the year with our annual Holiday Lunch traditionally held at Rye’s Michelin-starred La Panetiere.

Playgroups!! If you’re interested in joining a playgroup, please email sharonamantel[at]gmail.com with your children’s ages & days/times that are favorable and we’ll help create the connections.

If you have suggestions for additional activities, don’t hesitate to pass them on. The success of every organization is determined by its ability to serve member needs, and adapt as tastes and interests change. Go to RyeNewcomersClub.org for more details and don’t forget to check your email for our invitations. We’re also sharing information about community news and other recommendations on Facebook and Instagram, so join and follow us! We hope to see you soon.

Best regards.
